Endowment Induction Ceremony
of George Hamilton
The Officers of the May Park Edwardians Association Chapters are tasked with developing a vision and Five-year plan for the complete rehabilitation of our Alma Mater, St. Edward’s Secondary School.
In the summer of 2022, Saint Edward’s shall begin its first comprehensive goal-setting exercise we refer to as The Joint Chapter Consolidated Modernization Project (JCCMP). Our Board of Trustees will be presented with a comprehensive plan for approval by the end of summer 2023.
St. Edward’s Secondary School was founded by the Catholic Mission in 1922 with its aim to produce world class education for its students, underpinned by Catholic religious ideals, in a learning environment conducive for student growth. The school is renowned in Sierra Leone for its rigorous academic program, strong commitment to athletics, the arts, and emphasis on discipline, honour, ethics, and character.
However, over the years, war, overcrowding in Freetown, loss of funding, aging school infrastructure and increased competition in attracting good, qualified teachers have resulted in extreme diminishment of academic standards and student morale. The Edwardians Association Chapters, based in the U.S, U.K & Ireland and the entire diaspora have stepped in to raise funds for infrastructure overhaul and rehabilitation. As a group of Edwardians Association Chapters, we will work together to coordinate and accelerate the rehabilitation of St Edward’s School, its profile and excellent reputation within five years.
